LIFE GREENH2ORN project, GREEN Hydrogen mObility for the tRansition to climate Neutrality, will establish Greece’s first operational Green Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) with on-site production in the city of Kozani, one of the EU’s 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. The project focuses on producing green hydrogen via electrolysis for municipal and private vehicle fleets, showcasing its potential across heavy, medium, and light-duty mobility applications.
The total production and distribution capacity will supply at least • one garbage truck • one road sweeper • five passenger cars and • six scooters. Additionally, an IT platform for data management and maintenance will enhance efficiency and monitoring.
Expected outcomes include (a) reduction in carbon emissions in the mobility sector in the region, and the (b) potential replication of the project’s achievements in national level.
